Several collections of an aberrant orthocladiid larva have been made from mountainous streams in the southern part of British Columbia, Canada. The very Parametriocnemus-like mentum, ventromental plates and the SI uniquely define these larvae. The antenna has a divided second segment, the condition found in Helleniela, but the wisp-like 6th (terminal) antennal segment excludes this taxon.
Any suggestions?
Has anyone seen this beast before?
Best regards,
Jack Zloty Ph.D.
